The Woodside Care Precinct is a step closer to reality, with the development application now formally lodged with the Town of East Fremantle.
The Hall & Prior team, and our investment partners, the Fire and Emergency Services Superannuation Fund are delighted that we have reached this important milestone.
As part of development approval process, Council released the plans out for public comment and received 70 submissions from 59 households.
In due course, Council will draw up its response to the plans, and present it to the Joint Development Application Panel, which will make a decision on the proposal.
This journey started back in 2017 when Hall & Prior bought the site of the old Woodside Hospital for $13 million.
Referring to the sale, then Lands Minister Rita Saffioti said, “The State Government and the Hall & Prior joint venture have worked together to ensure the community benefits from a much-needed aged care facility while ensuring the heritage values of this East Fremantle property are respected.”
The proposed timeline for the redevelopment of the site is as follows. It is indicative only, and subject to change.
2020-21: Community and stakeholder consultation
July 2022: Development Application lodged with the Town of East Fremantle
Q2 20223: Design development and documentation
Q2 2024: Heritage restoration and construction
Q2 2026: First resident is welcomed.
